We are delighted with the repaired chair. Thank you

Simon did a fantastic job mending the leg on a mid-century coffee table, which had snapped off. I contacted several furniture restorers for quotes and chose Simon based on both repair method and price. He mended the table several months ago and I have been extremely pleased with the result. Great craftsmanship, you have to look very closely to even see the repair! As I live locally Simon offered to collect and drop off the table which was also much appreciated. All round excellent service, many thanks Simon!

We wanted to have our dining chairs restored and re-upholstered. Simon had previously done an excellent job with our Edwardian chest of drawers so we asked him to take a look at our dining chairs. Again another excellent job. Thank you Simon.

Simon brought back to life a antique table that had over the years been well used and damaged. Simon did a superb job, repaired the table and restored it back to its former glory, with lovely finish. Simon is a pleasure to do business with. Thanks

When the beautiful pink and yellow marble top of our antique French 19C commode was broken in two during our move, with a lot of small crumbling fragments, we thought it could never be restored. But Simon glued it back together again, in such a way that you can see the join only if you look very carefully. He also repaired a chip in the veneer beautifully. We are thrilled with the result and very grateful to Simon for his expertise and care.

Simon repaired two vintage oak chairs, the joints were coming apart and on one chair a joint was badly damaged and unsightly. The chairs are now very sound and safe to use again, the repair on the damage joint is so good that you cannot tell it is there. I am very happy with Simon’s workmanship and his manner I would definitely recommend him to others.

Just received three pieices of work carried out by Simon. Attention to detail to a broken pane of a cabinet absolutely phenomenal , a restored chair beautifully restored but my favourite piece was a table that was stripped and re-varnished. It looks amazing. Absolutely delighted.

There has been a gorgeous wooden trinket cabinet in my family for as long as I can remember. Two years ago it was packaged up in Canberra, Australia, along with a few other bits, destined for my mother who was now living here in the UK. Two years later - yes, indeed, after TWO years at sea - it turned up on my doorstep, very much the worse for wear. My mother had since died of covid and this lovely heirloom was one of the few things I had to remember her and my childhood. I found Simon on the internet and handed over all the bits and shards. He has done an absolutely stunning repair job. The cabinet is back to its beautiful original form and sparkle. All of the trauma of its 2 years at sea completely vanished! Simon is a rare gem of a craftsman and also a lovely gent. Thank you so much for your help and enthusiasm.

Simon hand turned a new leg for our Ercol sofa and it looks fantastic. A perfect match. Really pleased and highly recommended.

I googled for a furniture restorer in Leeds, found Simon, and how pleased I am to have met him. He has sympathetically repaired and refurbished an antique over mantle mirror and made a polished wooden low table respectable again eliminating ring and other marks and repolishing.
Thank you,
aa
Simon restored an antique wooden nursing chair that had been in the family for generations, it was in very poor condition but held great sentimental value, he understood why we wanted a rustic repair by my father should remain. The restoration is amazing and we are very happy with it. Simon is a very attentive, talented and just a lovely man. Would highly recommend him to do future restoration work - we will definitely use his services again

Simon restored a very dear family nursing chair to the most wonderful standard, a chair we thought was beyond repair, however Simon worked his magic and the chair looks magnificent and more importantly it is still useful as a chair. Thank you Simon

I took a hall table with a very badly broken leg to Simon having sent him photos before hand. He sent me a very reasonable estimate. The break was not clean and had very jagged edges. On collection the repair was so good that I was not able to distinguish the repair from the good leg. Simon produced an exceptional repair using his fantastic skills and on budget. I would not hesitate in recommending him to all for beautiful and skilful repairs.

We had two family tables both well used for decades and both in need of some T.L.C.
Not only did Simon bring out the true form of the wood and restore them to their former glories but did so with skill and care needed by a craftsman, thank you very much Simon well recommended.

Simon cleaned and polished a Syrian card table imported by my father at the end of the war. The table is of immense sentimental value and could not have been placed in better hands. I am highly delighted with the work which has brought out the marquetry and mother-of-pearl details.

Simon repaired a 100+ yr gateleg table for me. It was a sympathetic repair, done promptly with great service. I would highly recommend Simon.

Simon did a fantastic job of my grandmother’s desk which had been in a sorry state after bad treatment by some tenants. Now looking very shines and proud. I know it was quite an undertaking as one drawer had warped by 2 inches and the dovetail joints needed re aligning. Thank you Simon!

Excellent service. Very pleased with the results. Simon repaired three chairs which unfortunately had very deep scratch marks. Completely renovated. In addition he also replaced a broken pane in a cabinet. Absolutely seamless and the attention to detail in matching the putty was very much appreciated.

We've had Simon and his team do two repairs for us now. The first was an old oak dresser of my Mum's that was in a bit of a bad state: they cleaned it up, mended doors, etc and waxed it. It is now standing in our conservatory looking lovely.
The second was much trickier - an old walnut firescreen with broken feet that I seriously thought might be beyond repair. But not so: Simon has done a brilliant job on it, totally re-making the joints where they were damaged. Can barely see the repairs. And he's a nice bloke too! I can highly recommend him

I required the tops of 4 bedroom pieces of furniture and a dining table to be restored & polished. Other companies wanted 4 weeks yet Simon completed the work in 9 days. It would have been a week but he wasn't happy with one of the items and didn't return it until he was. This was the work of a professional who enjoys his work and wouldn't take short cuts to finish the job. His estimate for the work wasn't only competitive with others but nearly the cheapest. I would recommend his business to others

Simon repaired a split in the top of a 200 year old Rosewood Teapoy for us and did a beautiful job both repairing and polishing the top.
I wouldn't hesitate in either recommending him or using his services again.

The great thing about Simon is his cheerful enthusiasm coupled with his thorough understanding of antique cabinet work. Having passed him several jobs now all have been completed sympathetically, skilfully and in budget. His skills has given me the knowledge that I can go and buy good antique furniture knowing we will be able to work together to bring these peices back to their former glory without any worry.

I recently acquired a 3rd hand table and chairs at least 50 years old and in poor condition. After an initial consultation with Simon it was clear that he had an in depth knowledge of the subject and I commissioned the restoration. The work done was to a high standard and completed in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use him again.

My Afrian sculpture, specially commissioned in Uganda, was badly damaged in transit, one arm severed. After some difficulty finding an expert repairer, I was recommended to Simon. He was pleasant, courteous and spent time discussing how it could be repaired and was very knowledgeable about the African wood used. He has done a wonderful job, virtually impossible to see where the break was - my sculpture is as good as new and taking pride of place in my home. Simon was even courteous enough to deliver it to me.

I have had a rather nice but badly damaged old chair stored away for many years and decided to see about getting it repaired. I found Simon's details on the internet and arranged to take it to him. He was very enthusiastic about the work needed and so I left it with him. In due course he phoned to say it was ready. The result was amazing. He had actually had to do rather more than we had at first thought, but his craftsmanship won the day and I now have a beautifully restored chair, which is as sturdy as it was when new. Simon is an excellent craftsman - very polite and obviously enjoys his work. Thank you.

At last someone who not only knows what they are doing but has a clear passion and expertise in their field. Fast and efficient service. Thank you so much for doing such a great job fixing my Victorian chair. Happy to recommend Simon to friends/colleagues and will use his company again.

Simon has just renovated an old oak family chair for me (approx 100-120 years old), which was in danger of collapsing into sticks of firewood!! I haven't included a photo as he made such a good job of its restoration, that you can tell the work has been done. He let in some slivers of oak to fill the splits in the wood, and stabilised the joints, before waxing it to bring back the patina. We now have it back home where it is daily use, and am confident it will be handed down through the generations! I would have no hesitation in recommending Simon as a craftsman. Thanks so much for your help.

If you are a customer of ours, then why not leave a comment on the work that you had done.
My thanks to Simon for taking an old kitchen table barely held together (it was shameful) and making into the most beautiful piece of solid furniture. Not only is it the most good looking table I have ever seen it evokes many happy memories of me and my brother eating together as children , of mum baking bread and many happy memories of us as a family. They both passed away recently and it took a while before I could motivate myself to have this repaired, two years in fact but now it’s complete I can honestly it’s made the room. It’s odd but I get this strange sense of “ it’s ok” when I look at it. So Thankyou Simon, it’s true, you never miss what you don’t know and had I not had the table done I wouldn’t have felt comfort, reassurance like I do now. You have done an amazing job, beyond anything I had hoped for.
